Goldsberry picked Purdue over Texas in their Sweet 16 game on March 26, 2026, and Purdue (the 2 seed) won 79-77 at SAP Center in San Jose. The winning basket was Trey Kaufman-Renn's putback in the final second, after Texas had tied the game with an and-one in the last 30 seconds. The game was closer than 'safe bet' implies, but the prediction was only about who would win.
