Mother's Day at the Business Center: Thursday, May 7th, 2026

Episode of The Toast · May 7, 2026 · 57 min

Sisters Jackie and Claudia Oshry trade Mother's Day and family chatter before covering West Wilson's leaked photos, the Elle prequel, Taylor Fritz, Josh Groban, and Golden Tempo.

Summary

In this pre-Mother's Day episode of The Toast, the Oshry sisters opened with personal updates: a surprise gift of a viral Walmart Mahjong set, a baby's six-month milestone, a birthday dinner at the Polo Bar, a failed attempt to enjoy a massage (joking that an hour alone in a business center would be a better gift), an upcoming family trip, and ambivalence about a family dog. They also discussed the New York Knicks' playoff run, reminisced about memorable pop-culture scandals they had covered, and speculated that a long-rumored Vanity Fair article about Matt Kaplan may lack substance because reporters were still seeking sources.

The "fast five" stories began with Summer House star West Wilson addressing leaked private photos on his podcast; both hosts praised his light-hearted approach, though one said his podcast still was not compelling enough to listen to. They then discussed the teaser for Prime Video's Legally Blonde prequel series Elle, comparing it to The Carrie Diaries, and reports linking tennis player Taylor Fritz to Olivia Jade after his split from Morgan Riddle, debating whether elite solo athletes make good partners and predicting the pairing would not last.

Later stories covered Josh Groban's Hollywood Walk of Fame star, with tangents on David Foster discovering him, Josh Gad, Luke Evans and the live-action Beauty and the Beast, and confusion over Walk of Fame criteria. The final story was Kentucky Derby winner Golden Tempo skipping the Preakness Stakes, ruling out a Triple Crown; the hosts questioned proposals to space out the races and recalled the Belmont Stakes' move to Saratoga. They closed with an unscheduled discussion of new details in the alleged affair between Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini, including released boat-rental waivers.
