The Clam Slam Heard Round The World: Friday, June 26th, 2026
Episode of The Toast · June 26, 2026 · 52 min
Sisters Claudia and Jackie Oshry recap Love Island USA and discuss Tom Sandoval's assault allegations, an Aquamarine series, a Donkey spinoff, and Mitchell Musso's reunion snub.
Summary
On this Friday episode of The Toast, Claudia Oshry hosted from New York while Jackie Oshry joined remotely from a studio in Dallas. They opened with banter about Jackie's children's iPad, nicknamed "Granny the Cook," new music releases, and Jackie's defense of Amazon's impact on everyday life. Jackie then recapped the latest Love Island USA episode, in which producers sent postcards between the villa and Casa Amor, and the sisters weighed which couples should stay together.
The news segment began with Tom Sandoval's domestic violence restraining order requests against his girlfriend Victoria Robinson and her father after Robinson's arrest. Claudia, describing a Ring camera video, said she sided with the father and expressed skepticism of Sandoval's claims of abuse, while Jackie declined to judge a situation she said she knew little about. The hosts praised news that Emma Roberts would return for a Disney+ Aquamarine series, which led to a discussion of Tina Fey's work, and welcomed the 2028 Shrek spinoff Donkey, with Claudia calling Donkey the franchise's breakout star.
They also covered Nina Dobrev and Paul Wesley reuniting for an adaptation of the thriller You Deserve to Know, produced by Alex Cooper's Unwell, and Mitchell Musso's podcast explanation that he declined the Hannah Montana anniversary special because it was not presented as a return to the roles. Claudia doubted he had been invited and recounted his 2023 arrest, whose charges were later dismissed. In the closing Queenie and Weenie segment, Claudia named a Patreon episode revisiting old advice segments as her Queenie and Brooklyn Beckham as her Weenie, while Jackie chose Granny the Cook and a Love Island moment involving Kenzie dubbed "the clam slam."
