Toast Passion News: Thursday, May 28th, 2026
Episode of The Toast · May 28, 2026 · 55 min
Sisters Jackie and Claudia Oshry discuss West Wilson's rumored Summer House exit, Love Island USA, Keke Palmer and Sean Evans, Mormon Wives, and Susan Boyle's makeover.
Summary
Jackie and Claudia Oshry opened the episode by bickering over who was responsible for a bag of leftover lunch garbage left overnight in Claudia's car after a work meeting, then recounted a merchandise photo shoot, rainy-day driving, and a Hamptons house they believe had mold.
The main news segment began with reports that West Wilson had not been asked back to Summer House after Ciara Miller reportedly refused to return if he did. Claudia called the move a win for Ciara, while Jackie noted Wilson has a spinoff and questioned why Ciara would return. Both doubted Wilson's credibility after he admitted lying, and argued that the timeline he and Amanda Batula offered for their relationship did not absolve them. They discussed Kyle Cooke endorsing a Threads theory that Wilson had strategically "hitched his wagon" to Batula; Claudia thought the theory gave Wilson too much credit, while Jackie found it plausible. Jackie estimated Batula's financial loss from the scandal at about $10 million, and the hosts looked up what beta blockers are after discussing her demeanor at the reunion.
The hosts criticized Love Island USA's production for urging fans to "keep it kind" while casting and repeatedly saving divisive contestants such as Huda Mustafa, and discussed plans for recapping the upcoming season. They enthusiastically endorsed a possible romance between Keke Palmer and Hot Ones host Sean Evans after a flirtatious podcast appearance. On The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, both said Taylor Frankie Paul should be welcome back but objected to Dakota Mortensen's return given dual restraining orders.
The episode closed with a new "Toast Passion News" segment on Susan Boyle wiping her Instagram and debuting a bob-and-fur-coat makeover, with Claudia questioning whether audiences would embrace a glamorous Boyle, followed by a conversation about Jackie considering cutting her hair.

- Jackie Oshry
